Authorities investigate suspected fraud in Gyumri housing distribution process

YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS. Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into suspected misconduct and fraud in the housing project of Gyumri, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

The housing project refers to the governmental program on providing families who were left homeless after the 1988 earthquake with new apartments.

Authorities are investigating possible misconduct in the apartment distribution process. Officials are also suspected in filing false information on dismantlement of temporary houses which must be brought down after a given family receives a new apartment.
