YEREVAN, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s GDP growth in the first quarter of 2017 amounted 6,5%, finance minister Vardan Aramyan told a press conference on June 16.
“I think this is a quite good indicator, taking into account the fact that we had targeted a 3,2% growth for this year and we have numerously repeated that 3,2% is the minimal threshold which we will strive for”, the minister said.
Industry, services and commercial branches mostly contributed to the GDP growth.
“In January-Aril of 2017 the economic activity indicator of Armenia amounted 5,7%. Again industry and service branches mostly contributed to economic activity. We don’t expect significant decrease of economic activity indicators in the coming months”, he said.
Exports continue to display progressive growth compares to imports. According to Vardan Aramyan, a bit more than 16% exports indicator was recorded in five months, while the imports indicator amounted a bit more than 14%.
