STEPANAKERT, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. The border situation in Artsakh’s defense posts is tense but stable, Lieutenant General Levon Mnatsakanyan, Commander of the Defense Army of Artsakh, told reporters, adding that compared to previous months there is a decreasing trend in activeness, reports Armenpress.
“Although from time to time escalations take place, however, they do not last long. If we compare with the situation following the April events, the escalation has decreased for several times. The Azerbaijani sabotage reconnaissance operations failed. Last time they occurred in February. The shots and violations from various caliber weapons also reduced for several times. There is also a qualitative difference. If last year their shots were more accurate, this year there is certain difference in this sense”, he said, adding that the Defense Army gave targeted response so that to prevent the Azerbaijani further sabotage attempts.
The Defense Army Commander informed that they tried to cause several times more damages to the Azerbaijani side. “At the moment there are no development trends yet”, he said.
