Artsakh’s economic activity grows by 11,5% in 1st quarter of 2017

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 2, ARMENPRESS. The economic activity index of Artsakh amounted 107,8% in March of 2017, as compared to March of 2016, 106,2% in February of 2017 while for the period of January-March (progressive) 111,5% as compared to 2016’s same period.
In January-March 2017, Artsakh’s GDP amounted 43,3 billion drams. The GDP growth rate amounted 108,1%, the index-deflator amounted 104,8%.
The GDP per capita in the same period amounted 297,1 thousand drams by current prices.
The national statistical service of Artsakh told ARMENPRESS the industrial output in January-March was 15 billion drams, and 14,8 billion drams of the production was sold.
Compared to 2016, the industrial output’s physical volume index amounted 115,6%, 162,4% for mining industry and open pit mining, 110,5% processed industry, 106,3% electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and 104,9% for water supply, sewage, waste management and reprocessing.
In the same period, 8,4 billion drams worth of construction was carried out in Artsakh, which is an increase of 51,3% compared to the previous year.
The average monthly wage amounted 152 thousand drams for employed people, an increase of 1,1 percent.
Artsakh’s commercial turnover amounted 39,3 billion drams, including exports – 8,6 billion drams, imports – 30,7 billion drams.
The foreign trade turnover volume grew by 60,2 percent.
