Civilian and military hospitals in Vardenis, Sisian and Berd towns to be merged

YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS. Working discussions were held in the Ministry of Defense aimed at making the cooperation of civilian and military medical services more effective and harmonizing the approaches of the two agencies, the Ministry told Armenpress.

Acting Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan and acting Healthcare Minister Levon Altunyan talked about the necessity of merging the civilian and military hospitals in Vardenis, Sisian and Berd towns aimed at improving the quality of medical assistance and expanding the volumes for the people and militaries.

The representatives of the two Ministries presented the results of already done examinations according to which the merge of the hospitals will enable to save significant financial resources which will be directed towards the programs development, and will significantly increase the quality and effectiveness of the services provided.

Levon Altunyan and Vigen Sargsyan discussed the possible mechanisms on improving the volumes, access and quality of medical assistance and services provided to the servicemen and their family members.

They gave respective instructions to carry out thorough research on the issues discussed and report on the results in short period of time.
