‘Theatrical Syunik’ festival to boost artistic and cultural life in Armenian cities

YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS. Sponsored by the culture ministry, the Hrayr and Anna Hovnanian Charity foundation and the assistance of Syunik Governor’s Office, the Union of Theater Figures on Armenia will hold the Theatrical Syunik Festival May 19-27.

The culture ministry told ARMENPRESS the purpose of the festival is to display the performances of the best theaters of Armenia in Sisian, Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, Agarak and Meghri.

The festival will also provide the chance to raise the current issues of Goris’ Vagharshyan Theater and Kapan’s Shirvanzade Theater, making the activities of the theaters more effective.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held on May 19 in Kapan, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for May 27 in Goris.

Over 10 theaters will take part in the festival, touring in the abovementioned cities.
