EU to host Syria aid conference in Brussels on April 5

YEREVAN, MARCH 7, ARMENPRESS. The European Union will hold an aid conference on Syria on April 5 in Brussels, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said, reports TASS.

“The EU will host Syria aid conference on April 5 in Brussels which will be co-chaired by the UN and the governments of Germany, Kuwait, Norway, Qatar and Britain”, she said, adding that the conference will be held aimed at supporting the future of Syria and the region.

“During the conference we will discuss the support of the entire international community aimed at building the future of Syria and the region. I hope the Geneva talks will end with a positive result, and then we will start planning what assistance we can provide for the country’s future”, Mogherini said.

The first aid conference was held in London on February 4. During that time the participants collected more than 10 billion USD for Syria.
