Parliament adopts military compensation bill aka 1000AMD bill

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The Parliament of Armenia entirely adopted the “Compensation of servicemen for health/life damages sustained during the defense of Armenia” bill and the attached bill package at third reading.

84 lawmakers voted in favor, 4 against and 1 refrained.

Under the bill, it is planned to create an assistance fund for the families of fallen servicemen or servicemen who were disabled during military operations. Every employed citizen must transfer 1000AMD monthly from their salaries to the fund. Exceptions include people who have a family member serving in the military, parents of fallen or handicapped servicemen. Employers will cover the payment for citizens working minimum wages.
