YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan says the RPA 16th convention was an important event in the party’s history, reports “Armenpress”.
“Yes, for me personally that convention was historical and important since we were able to combine the legislative requirement with the existing political situation, make assessments, propose solutions”, he said, adding that the party’s value is to be different.
“There is nothing surprising that the RPA, being quite different with its essence, its human resources, always makes and implements joint decisions in critical political situations. We are not a party with cloned members, we are a party which gathers people of different professions whose value system is mainly the same. The RPA is the only party that has lost three of its leaders during its existence and survived. We have lost Ashot Navasardyan, Vazgen Sargsyan, Andranik Margaryan, all three were party leaders, but we have survived as a party. I cannot remember a political force, that, God forbid, in case of physically losing its leader can be reproduced and maintained in such a way”, Ashotyan said.
