YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. Aircraft designer Ivan Mikoyan passed away at the age of 89. Mikoyan was the co-creator of the Russian iconic MIG 29 fighter jet, reports RT.

Hovhannes Mikoyan (Ivan), has worked his entire life in the aircraft designing company, which was founded by his uncle, the famous Artem Mikoyan.

Mikoyan twice received USSR awards for designing the MIG 29.

Ivan Mikoyan was an advisor for the MIG Russian Aircraft Corporationuntil his death.
