PM Karapetyan presents Government’s structural changes’ logic

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan says the Government’s structural changes are not an end in itself.

During the Government’s session he presented the logic of proposed changes and said they wanted to put a special emphasis on entrepreneurs in connection with the renaming of Economy Ministry, the Ministry of Investments and Entrepreneurship Support must be the center which must help the entrepreneur so that there will be no obstacles for him.

According to the new decision the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources must be renamed as Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources. Referring to the inclusion of the State Committee of Water Economy to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the PM said there are a number of problems over water issues which must be solved.

“The logic is that we must not upset farmers, but this in its turn leads to inefficient spending. I don’t want to create an impression that we are taking subjective steps at the expense of the new manager. We transfer the Department of Aviation into the Ministry of Transport and Communication. We separate the Tourism Department from the Economy Ministry which will become a Committee. Instead of the Ministry of Urban Development we will create Committee of Architecture and Cultural Preservation”, he said, “Armenpress” reported.

“I know the Minister of Culture considers it wrong since she finds that the Ministry of Culture will maintain it better than the architects, but we want to unite these specialized sectors”, the PM said.
