5 Armenian National Assembly factions initialed agreement on installation of control mechanisms on electoral processes

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. 5 factions of the Armenian National Assembly have initialed an agreement on installation of mechanisms to control the electoral processes, head of the Armenian National Congress faction Levon Zurabyan said.

“After the initial we met also with donors, and I can say the 9 million USD needed for implementing the points of this agreement exists”, he said, “Armenpress” reported.

He said the civil society representatives have also expressed their opinion over this agreement. “Since we already have the necessary funds and the civil society’s positive opinion, I urge to organize the final process of signing the agreement as soon as possible and start making the respective amendments in the Electoral Code”, he said.

The agreement was signed by the RPA, ARF, ANC, OEK (Rule of Law) and the Prosperous Armenia Party factions.
