Armenian schoolchildren capture 15 medals in ISF Gymnasiade 2016 in Turkey

YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS. The 16th International School Sports Federation Gymnasiade was held July 11-18 in Trabzon, Turkey.

The ISF has been organizing international competitions to encourage education through sport andstudent athletes.

2500 school students from 30 countries took part in the event.

The Armenian delegation – comprised of 38 participants – took part in 9 disciplines: Athletics, gymnastics, swimming, Greco-roman and freestyle wrestling, judo, archery, chess and fencing.

The Armenian team was formed in assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.

Armenian school athletes captured 5 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals in the 16th ISF Gymnasiade.
