YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS. William MacDougall, director of the MacDougall Fine Arts Auction House told RIA Novosti “The Survivor” by Ivan Aivazovsky has become the highest priced lot of the auction.
Overall 3.3 million pounds worth of arts were sold.
“The Survivor” was sold for 499,000 pounds.
MacDougall’s is the only fine art auction house to specialise exclusively in Russian art. The biannual sales during London’s Russian Art Week in June and December feature works by Russian masters from the 19th to the 21st century, works on paper, icons and works of art.
