Victory Day events kick off in Nagorno Karabakh

STEPANAKERT, MAY 9, ARMENPRESS. Commemorative events on the occasion of Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War, the Liberation of Shushi and the establishment of the Nagorno Karabakhi Defense Army have kicked off in Nagorno Karabakh.

The events are attended by high ranking officials from both Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

President of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Sahakyan, Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, accompanied by other high ranking officials, visited the memorial of fallen soldiers and laid flowers and wreaths.

The officials later visited the cemetery of soldiers who died while protecting their country, and laid flowers to their graves, honoring their memory.

The Armenian and Nagorno Karabakhi officials later departed for Shushi.
