Charles Aznavour to give concert in Prague

YEREVAN, MARCH 19, ARMENPRESS. Legendary singer Charles Aznavour will give a concert at “Congress” centre in Prague. “Armenpress” reports Aznavour told about this in an interview witharchiv.ihned.cz.

Answering the question how it happened that the world famous singer, who has given concerts all over the world, has never given a concert in Prague, Aznavour mentioned that back in 1969, one year after the Russian troops entered the city, he had plans to give a concert but due to some circumstances, the concert did not take place.

“I do not know. The organizers cancelled it. May be one of the officials thought that it is not a good choice to sing in such a situation. After that I twice visited Prague, I acted in two films made there, but never gave a concert”, the singer said.

Speaking about his activities, Aznavour mentioned, “I am Armenian, I was born in Paris, and I am proud of my work”.
