Excuse to solve issues with Kurds: Turkey will benefit from the terrorism

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 18, ARMENPRESS. The new terrorism, which was took place not far from the state structures in Turkey’s capital Ankara on February 17, will be a good opportunity for the Turkish authorities to continue fighting more fiercely against the Kurds. It is no coincidence that shortly after the terrorist attacks the country's intelligence agencies declared that the Kurdistan Workers'Party (PKK) is responsible for what happened. Turkish armed forces resumed military actions against the mentioned party since summer of 2015.

It should be noted that the implementation of terrorism for PKK, which aims at reaching autonomy for the Kurds residing in the territory of Turkey, is not logical taking into account that the incident can only destabilize the situation in the country and intensify pressure on the Kurds by the state level.

On the other hand, if the guilt of PKK is proven in the implementation of terror in Ankara, the incident should be seen as a response to the actions carried out by the Turkish armed forces for months against Turkey's Kurdish regions. According to the statements of Turkish Armed Forces General Staff, more than 5 hundred Kurdish militants were killed in recent months within the framework of actions implemented in the Kurdish provinces of the country. If it is proved that PKK is responsible for the February 17 incident then it should be considered as a painful response to Turkey’s carried out military actions for more than half a year.

Both Turkish President Erdoğan and Ahmet Davutoğlu earlier stated that they consider PKK, Syrian Kurdish Democratic Society Party (PYD) and People's Protection Units (YPG) the same terroristic structures. Hence, blaming PKK in Ankara’s recent accident, Ankara will more confidently continue bombing Kurds’ positions in northern Syria presenting such actions to the international community as a necessary fight against threats and terroristic actions towards Turkey’s security.
