New electoral code will set mechanism for ensuring transparent elections

YEREVAN, JANUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. A reference was made to the new electoral code of Armenia and all the options that may ensure transparent elections were discussed during the Executive Body session of the Republican Party of Armenia. RPA National Assembly faction member, Executive Body member Gagik Minasyan told the journalists about this after RPA executive body session.“I do not wish to detail, but the mechanisms that were introduced will really guarantee absolute trust of our citizens towards elections”, “Armenpress” reports, the MP mentioned.

He added that general elections are planned to be conducted via electronic voting. “We have an agreement with a number of organizations that are ready to defray the expenses of the investment of that system. There are different electronic systems for organizing elections, which need different financial investments, but the issue of finance cannot create restrictions for us”, RPA Executive Board member concluded.
