YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARMENPRESS. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will not dare to start a large-scale war as there are big risks connected with that.
As “Armenpress” reports, according to the Head of the Modus Vivendi Center, political scientist Ara Papian, there is the danger that the war will proceed in an unfavorable direction for him.
“Unfortunately, the tension in the Karabakh conflict zone will go on, there will be victims, but I do not predict a large-scale war,” Papian said, adding that Aliyev will not change his behavior, military rhetoric, as well as subversive acts and tension will continue. As Papian points out, Armenia cannot avoid the tension created by Azerbaijan, but can improve situation in the frontline, replenishing its equipment. For that purpose, according to Papian, Armenia Defense Ministry must review its expenses and direct all the expenses to replenish the technology intensiveness of the frontline.
In reply to the question whether the drop in oil prices can make any changes in superstates’ attitude towards Azerbaijan, Papian answered that the attitude towards Azerbaijan has already changed, as oil era has already ended and technological revolution has taken place. Subsequently, it is impossible to predict a good fate for Azerbaijan.
