YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Communities’ enlargement program has no alternative. Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia Hermine Naghdalyan said the aforementioned during the discussion of the bill on making changes and amendments to Armenia Law on Administrative-Territorial Division of the Republic of Armenia.
“I am of the opinion that we must be able to make this reform to achieve what we need for the realization of self government system without losing what our people, each community needs in terms of important opportunities,” “Armenpress” reports, Naghdalyan said.
Naghdalyan noted that communities’ enlargement has not got any alternative in Armenia expressing hopes that the political will displayed by the Government in this issue will be supported by the majority of the parliament.
“I think we are on the right path. People often say nowadays that former administrative-territorial division operating in the soviet times was a very effective one. We must also thoroughly study that experience,” Vice President of the National Assembly emphasized.
Naghdalyan emphasized that the approach adopted by the Government has no alternative and Armenia is obliged to follow the path of communities’ enlargement in order to make self government system more effective.
