EU support Armenia in attracting foreign direct investments

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The European Union supports Armenia in attracting foreign direct investments and improving investment policy. Twinning program “Strengtheningtheinvestment promotionandinvestment policy institutionalframework ofArmenia” is launched in Armenia, signed by Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Delegationof theEuropeanUnion toArmenia and French “Business France” company.

First Deputy Minister of Economy Garegin Melkonyan mentioned that the main aim of the program is to increase foreign direct investments in Armenia.

“Armenpress” reports that Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier emphasized that the program aims to get to a situation that Armenia will be able to present itself to foreign investors in a completely different way after some months. “To attract foreign investors, first of all it is necessary to create a friendly business environment, transparency and free competition. These are the main preconditions that attract foreign investments. In that regard, this is a grandiose program. I wish to express my satisfaction for the fact that this program will be implemented by a French company”, the Ambassador emphasized, wishing success to the bodies engaged in the implementation of the program.
