Armenia and Indonesia to deepen relations

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The main aim of the arrival of Indonesian high-level delegation is the perspectives for fostering economic, political and diplomatic cooperation between Armenia and Indonesia.

Irman Gusman, speaker of the Regional Representative Council (Senate) of the Republic of Indonesia told “Armenpress” that if earlier trade ties between the 2 countries had been mediated, from now on they wanted to have economic cooperation in the sector of economy.

“We have oil in Indonesia, defense products industry is developed in our country which can interest Armenia. Of course, we need an institution to inform us about competitive products in Armenia that may be attractive for Indonesia. Thus, we will be able to develop trade relations between the 2 countries without the mediation third country,” Irman Gusman said.

He notes that he is satisfied with the current level of relations between Armenia and Indonesia but sees potential in developing them on parliamentary and executive levels.

He reaffirmed that Armenia and Indonesia intend to transfer to visa-free transitsystem or at least issuing of diplomatic and government passports to relieve the live of those travelling to Indonesia and Armenia.
