Khosrov Harutyunyan: International community appreciates Armenia’s role in international peacekeeping operations

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan states at the UN Summit on Peacekeeping Operations that preservation of international peace and security is a primary responsibility for all, both great and smaller states,and Armenia can become the best example of such engagement. Khosrov Harutyunyan from the NA “Republican Party of Armenia" /RPA/ said the aforementioned in his interview with “Armenpress”, when referring to President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the UN Summit on Peacekeeping Operations.

“In fact, Armenia’s peaceful operations in Kosovo, then in terms of expanding cooperation with international institutions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Mali, testifies to the fact that the international community considers Armenia as a stable and reliable partner in peacekeeping operations. Moreover, not only a partner to acquire experience in that period, but a partner who is ready to use its experience in teaching and training others, in the context of which Armenia President speaks of further actions, emphasizing that Armenia has assumed the responsibility of providing experience for organizational activities of field hospitals,” “Armenpress” reports, MP stated.

According to Khosrov Harutyunyan, the latter speaks of the fact that the international community appreciates Armenia’s role and responsible participation in international peacekeeping operations.

President Serzh Sargsyan, who had arrived in the United States of America to take part in the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, participated in the UN Summit on Peacekeeping Operations on 28 September in New York, where he made an address.
