Working group for EAEU-Iran free trade zone to be created by Armenia’s initiative

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. Eurasian Economic Union will set up a working group by Armenia’s initiative which will engage in the creation of free trade zone between EAEU and Iran. “Three months ago we sent an official letter to the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EAEU member states suggesting starting a procedure of forming a more privileged trade regime between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran. It is planned to set up a special working group where the EAEU member states and the Eurasian Economic Commission will be included”, “Armenpress” reports that the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan, mentioned about this, adding that the creation of the working group is already in process.

According to Kocharyan, in the near future research of the market, opportunities and risks will be launched. The Deputy Minister brought the example of Vietnam, adding that due to large preparatory works a free trade agreement was signed between the EAEU and Vietnam. “Now the same process has started with Iran”, mentioned Shavarsh Kocharyan.
