Exports of Armenian agricultural products exceed index of precious year

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Total breeding output of the first 7 months of 2015 rose by 4.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and made 183 billion drams. The data was introduced to the journalists by the Minister of Agriculture, Sergo Karapetyan. “As of July 1 of the current year the number of cattles increased by 3.6% which is 775 thousand compared to the same period of the previous year. The rise of the number of small cattles is assessed at 7.2% (981 thousand). The increase of the number of pigs in the given period is 11.4%”, “Armenpress” reports, the Minister informed.

Sergo Karapetyan assured that due to preparatory works the process of purveyance goes on smoothly in the Republic. According to him, the agricultural product processing companies have purveyed 22 thousand vegetables which exceed the index of the previous year by 4%. Purveyance of fruits has also exceeded the index of the previous year.

According to the Minister, the rise in the production of agricultural products fostered exportation of plant products. The volume of exports exceeds the number of the same period of the previous year by 72%.
