Seyran Ohanyan: Rival’s activation on border does not remain without retaliation

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBERR 2, ARMENPRESS. Though Azerbaijan started long-range shooting by using mortars, the Armenian Armed Forces fully control the situation on the border. Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, mentioned about this during the dirge ceremony of Colonel-General Gurgen Daribaltayan. “The uniqueness of the tense situation of the recent period is that the rival started to use mortars. It does not remain without retaliation. We punish them. We often create conditions for deterrence by taking preemptive measures. The rival does not succeed and this is the reason they use long-range weapons. The situation on the border is under control”, the Minister mentioned, “Armenpress” reports.

Referring to the investment of Gurgen Daribaltayan in the establishment of the Armenian Armed Forces the Minister underlined that he was a balanced person who managed his profession best. “He was among the individuals who have experience and even in case of difficult situations manage the situation, plan and implement the operations in a callous manner”, emphasized Ohanyan.
