MoD spokesperson: Armenian side has no victims. Azerbaijan spreads misinformation

YEREVAN, AUGUST 24, ARMENPRESS. The news spread about the victims of the Armenian side does not correspond to reality. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesmanfor Defense Ministry of the Republic of Armenia informed the abovesaid in his conversation with Armenpress. “The Armenian side has no victims. It’s misinformation spread by Azerbaijan.”, said the spokesperson.

The Azerbaijani side however has victims and injured. According to the statement released by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic on August 24, the rival intensively violated the ceasefire regime in the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies on the weekend firing from different caliber weapons (60, 82 and 120 mm grenade launchers) and artillery weapons.

The frontier troops of the Defense Army made counterattacks to suppress the rival’s activeness. According to reliable sources, the opponent had at least 4 victims and more than 15 injured resulting from the shootings.
