Government ready to support farmers and recycling companies for grape harvest purveyance

YEREVAN, AUGUST 6, ARMENPRESS. A consultation referring to the organization of grape harvest purveyance of the current year took place in the Government headed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on August 6.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government Staff, the Prime Minister, greeting the guests and referring to the foreseen volume of 2015 grape harvest purveyance, mentioned that according to information from the Ministry of Agriculture an overall 280 thousand tons of grape harvest is expected from which 196 thousand tons are to be purveyed but the demand is for 160 thousand tons. Hovik Abrahamyan mentioned that the Government highlights the on time and smooth organization of grape harvest purveyance and is ready to support the recycling companies to solve the issue of purveying the extra quantity of grape. “We have one issue on the agenda today: The preparatory works of seasonal grape harvest purveyance and I would also to hear from you what tools we should use and what kind of support we should provide to be able to collect the harvest from our farmers”, the head of the Government said.

Then, the Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan reported on the process of organizing the 2015 grape harvest purveyance and introduced the results of preliminary discussions with the grape recycling companies.

The PM summing up the discussion stressed that the Government will do its maximum not to allow the grape harvest to remain at the farmers and the recycling companies accept the harvest. Hovik Abrahamyan mentioned that the Government together with the Central Bank will discuss and follow that financial resources are allocated to solve the issue.
