Artsakh tournament of pan-Armenian games starts with victory of Stepanakert team

STEPANAKERT, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS. The launch of the Stepanakert tournament of the 6th summer pan-Armenian games was given by Stepanakert-Berd men's volleyball competition.

Artsakh won in three rounds with the score 25-9, 25-5 and 25-13. Though the audience was not large at the Artsakh State University but those who were present followed the game with great enthusiasm. The Minister of Education, Science and Sport of NKR Slavik Asryan was among them, who, welcoming the participants of the pan-Armenian games, said that Artsakh is always open to the children of world-spread Armenians regardless of where they come from. “This is another prove that the unity of motherland-Artsakh-Diaspora can be successful”, ‘Armenpress” reports that the Minister said during the opening ceremony.

Vice president of the organizing committee of the pan-Armenian games Stepan Ter-Petrosyan warmly greeted the participants and said, “We attach great importance to the successful realization of these games in Stepanakert and I have no doubt in it. I am sure that during the next games larger teams will participate in the tournaments held in Artsakh”, Ter-Petrosyan said.

A day before the football and volleyball teams of Lebanon, Iran and Gymri arrived in Stepanakert.
