Davutoğlu already knows when he will receive assignment from President to form coalition

YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of Turkey, leader of the ruling party “Justice and Development” Ahmet Davutoğlu reported that on July 9 President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan may officially assign him to form the Government. As reports “Armenpress”, citing Turkish “Anadolu” agency, Davutoğlu informed this during a speech to the party faction in Majlis.

The Prime Minister refuted the information that the President prolongs the procedure of giving an assignment to form a government deliberately and baselessly, mentioning that everything takes place in line with the Constitution of the country.

Davutoğlu has also informed that after getting the relevant assignments from the President he will meet the leaders of parties and their representatives.

As during the parliamentary election held on July 7 neither party managed to obtain an absolute majority of votes for forming a single-party government, the parties represented in the Majlis must come to an agreement over the formation of a coalition government within 45 days after the President’s assignment. If within 45 days no government is formed, untimely parliamentary election will be held in the country.
