Armenia's President sends congratulatory message on Nikolay Hovhannisyan's birthday

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message on the 85th birthday of historian and orientalist Nikolay Hovhannisyan, Associate Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. The Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the Armenian President’s Office informed “Armenpress” that the message runs as follows:

“Dear Mr. Hovhannisyan,

I cordially congratulate you on your 85th birthday.

You have made a major contribution to the development of Armenian historiography, particularly the history of the Middle East, and to the research of the Armenian Genocide.

You are highly regarded for the establishment of the Armenian school of Arabic Philology and the increase of its international reputation, as well as for educating and nurturing a new generation of orientalists.

I wish you good health, inexhaustible vigor and further success in the fields of science and pedagogy.”
