MP Mher Shahgeldyan speaks out about Aleppo-Armenians’ issues at National Assembly

YEREVAN, 19 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The situation in Aleppo is getting worse day after day, and it poses a serious threat to the entire population and especially the Armenians of Aleppo. This is what secretary of the faction of the “Country of Law” Party of the National Assembly Mher Shahgeldyan said during the hour of announcements at the National Assembly.“Based on various data, there are only 18-20,000 Armenians left in Aleppo, of which 20-25% are children. The National Assembly has covered the issue several times. The attacks of ISIS present a real danger to human lives. The actions of ISIS have shown that the members of ISIS are people for whom a person’s life is of no value. They are perpetrating massacres, spreading fear and horror,”Shahgeldyan mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.

Shahgeldyan suggests turning the issues facing the Armenians of Aleppo into one of the nation’s priorities and taking steps to neutralize the dangers that are posing a threat to them.“We shouldn’t forget that the issue concerns our compatriots. So, we have to make more efforts to engage Diaspora Armenians, Armenia’s political forces and Artsakh in the process,”Shahgeldyan concluded.
