Diaspora Minister suggested organizing "Days of the Armenian Communityof Argentina" events in Armenia

YEREVAN, 18 MAY, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to the Republic of Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeitia. As the Department of Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia reports to "Armenpress", the minister congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on assuming office and wished him success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The minister said that the Armenians of Argentina were very excited about and grateful for the Argentine government’s recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and that the Argentine government is joined by the governments of states. The people and government of Argentina provided shelter to the Armenians who escaped the genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire and provided them with the opportunity to become self-organized and integrate into the society. She mentioned that the Armenians having passed the roads of the Golgotha had a wide opportunity to live, create, preserve the national identity and take part in the country’s advancement thanks to the good will and humanitarianism of the friendly Argentines.

The minister suggested working with the embassy and organizing a series of events called “Days of the Armenian Community of Argentina in Armenia”, which would be part of the “Days of the Community in Armenia” Program.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the issue on the ongoing development of economic relations between Armenia and Argentina and brought up the experience of Eduard Eurnekian as an example of success. They also touched upon the issue of engaging new investments.

Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia expressed gratitude for the cordial and friendly reception and assured that he would actively collaborate with the Ministry of Diaspora.
