Agricultural service center opens in Norapat village

YEREVAN, 12 MAY, ARMENPRESS. An agricultural service center opened in Norapat village of Armavir Province within the framework of the Partnership for the Prosperity of Rural Communities Program, which is carried out through funding provided by USAID and the “Agro-Business and Rural Development Center” Foundation.
In his welcome speech, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan expressed gratitude to the donor organizations funding the programs being carried out in the field of agriculture in Armenia and mentioned that the opening of the center was one of the best examples of the development of cooperation between the public and private sectors.“This center will supply the tools needed for farming, including pesticides, fertilizers and all the required products. The aim of this specialized center is to help develop farming in Armenia and contribute to the advancement of the experience of progressive technologies and the development of farm business,”he emphasized, according to “Armenpress”.
US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Millsnoted that the US takes pride in the fact that it is a partner in the establishment of this useful and important center.“The field of agriculture is one of the priorities of the US government because we know very well that the people involved in agriculture in Armenia are the more effective economic entities in the region, and we believe that there is great potential for growth and development in the rural communities of Armenia,”he emphasized.
