YEREVAN, 11 MAY, ARMENPRESS. On 10 May, the Lebanese-Armenian divers in the Mediterranean Sea (in territory of Lebanon) placed a cross in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, who were drowned in the water. "Armenpress" was informed by the photographer of the Lebanon-based “Aztag” Armenian periodical Markar Tumanian. The process is carried out under auspices of the Embassy of Armenia to Lebanon, the Central Committee of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Lebanon, as well as the Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics. The “Octopus” Diving club, which owner is a descendant of survivors of the Armenian Genocide Andranik Haddad, organized the works of placement of the cross, which was dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.

The Armenian cross was placed 35 meters deep in the Mediterranean Sea, dedicated to the Memory of those Armenians who perished drowning in rivers and seas during the Armenian Genocide, escaping rape, abduction and torturous death by Turkish officers in 1915.
