Events devoted to Centennial of Armenian Genocide wrap up in Washington

YEREVAN, 11 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The closing ceremony of the events, which was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was held in Washington. “Armenpress” was informed about this by the official cite of the Catholicosate of Cilicia. The final dinner of the three days events was launched at the “Mariott” hotel, which was organized by the 100th anniversary Central Committee of Eastern and Western Dioceses (USA) of Etchmiadzin and Cilicia. The dinner was attended by Garegin II and Aram I Catholicoses, as well as more than two thousand Armenians.

Govermental and political American figures, intellectuals also attended the dinner, who were awarded by the Committee for their support in the works of the Armenian Cause. The awards were handed out by the two Catholicoses.

According to the source, within framework of the commemorative events of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, on the morning of May 9, His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, celebrated Divine Liturgy. And His Holiness Aram I delivered his pontifical message to the attendees.
