Armenia's Ambassador to Prague visits tombstone of Armenian soldier killed during WWII

PRAGUE, 9 MAY, ARMENPRESS. On the occasion of the 70thanniversary of the end of WWII, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Tigran Seyranyan visited the tombstone of Arshavir Davtyan, who was from Syunik and heroically died for the liberation of the Sázava town of Visochina Region at the age of 19. This was posted on the official Facebook page of the Embassy of Armenia in Prague, as “Armenpress” reports.

Under the leadership of Alexander Sargsyan, members of the “Urartu” Armenian-Czech Union laid wreaths and flowers at the tombstone of Arshavir Davtyan and the monument to deceased Czech soldiers underneath the national flags of Armenia and the Czech Republic during the commemorative event held on May 8. The town’s brass orchestra performed the triumphant march.

Arshavir Davtyan’s tombstone was made and placed in central Sázava through the efforts of Bohuslav Trdla.
