ISTANBUL, 24 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the events of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide held in Istanbul, numerous people gathered in front of the houses of Avedis Nakashyan and Archimandrite Komitas on April 24, by local time at 10: 00 am.

As the correspondent of “Armenpress” reports from the event’s place, on behalf of the event’s organizers, Tatleos Ozbebek noted, that today the event is held in that place, where the Armenian intellectuals were taken to the death march exactly 100 years ago. This morning, the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan delivered a speech at the Genocide Memorial Tsitsernakaberd, during which expressed his gratitude to those who gathered at the Taksim Square in Istanbul. “They are strong people who are standing for the right cause for their fatherland”, the President underscored.
