YEREVAN, APRIL 22, ARMENPRESS: The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland calls on the world community to share the pain of the nations, who suffered the tragedy of human losses and make steps to prevent them in the future. The European official stated about it at the social and political global forum “Against the Crime of Genocide” held in Yerevan.
“100 years ago many people were deprived of realizing their potential, hundred thousands of people were subject to poverty and that was not only the Armenians’ loss, but also the loss of the world. The achievements and joy of those people are not possible to be returned, though we should share the pain of the people, who suffered and paid for their lives”, - said Jagland, Armenpress reports.
“Armenia is a country, inspiring hope, you have managed to turn your sufferings into strength. Today we express our support to the principles that we should protect the lives of the innocent people, overcome the consequences of the tragedy and exclude their repetition. Armenian nation, thank you for your courage. Mr. President, I am with you”, - concluded the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.
