ATHENS, 16 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial, Greek-Armenian youth held a protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Greece with the demand to not shut an eye to history and recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide. As “Armenpress” reports, citing Azad Or, the youth submitted to the Embassy’s representative a memorandum urging the U.S. government and Congress to take immediate action and recognize the Armenian Genocide. They also urged the U.S. government to pressure Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide and take action to make reparations and to return the territorial properties of the Armenian people.

“We are urging the U.S. government to become one of the major leaders in the campaign for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and take the first step for the prevention of future genocides,” as stated in the statement.
