YEREVAN, 16 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan received today Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom OJSC Alexey Miller. As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the interlocutors discussed the current level and perspectives of development of the cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the energy sector.
Emphasizing the fact that the federal strategic partnership between Russia and Armenia is growing and becoming stronger dynamically in all sectors, the head of state attached great importance to the economic component in which the gas and energy sectors play a huge role. Serzh Sargsyan praised the activities that Gazprom carries out in Armenia through Gazprom Armenia, which is one of the leading companies in Armenia’s economy. Taking into account the company’s efforts, as well as the notable contributions to the development and strengthening of economic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation and to the strengthening of the friendship between the Russian and Armenian nations, President Serzh Sargsyan granted the Order of Friendship to Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom OJSC Alexey Miller.
Alexey Miller expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic for the high award and for appreciating his company with the award, as well as for attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the sport and training complex to be built in Yerevan as part of the “Gazprom for Children” Program today.
