President Serzh Sargsyan praises FAO's programs in Armenia

YEREVAN, 9 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. During the official visit to the Republic of Italy, President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan met with Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) José Graziano da Silva.

As the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Serzh Sargsyan mentioned that Armenia praises the implementation by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations of various programs for the country’s economic development and attached importance to Armenia’s involvement in regional and donor programs.

The President of the Republic of Armenia mentioned that the Armenian side was ready to support all the initiatives of Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations José Graziano da Silva, including the reforms taking place within the organization.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also touched upon the perspectives of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. In this context, the interlocutors stated with joy that the EEU-FAO partnership measures plan had already been signed and expressed confidence that that would give a new impetus to the Armenia-FAO cooperation.
