Representatives of Catholic Church from Gyumri to leave for Vatican to participate in Holy Liturgy served by Francis Pope

GYUMRI, 9 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. In memory of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide Francis Pope will celebrate Divine Liturgy at St. Peter's Basilica of Vatican on 12 April. In fact, the Catholic Church that day marks as God's Mercy Sunday. Francis Pope will celebrate the Holy liturgy with the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Catholic Church of Cilicia Nerses Bedros XIX. The Archbishops, Bishops, Priests of the Catholic Church also will participate in Divine Liturgy. The Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church Karekin II and the Catholicos of Cilicia Aram will attend the ceremony, as well as ambassadors and official figures will take part in Holy Liturgy.
For this purpose, the Primate of the Catholic Church of Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Eastern Europe His Grace Archbishop Raphael Minasyan has left to Vatican. The youth of the Catholic Church will leave to Vatican. The Pastor of the Armenian Catholic Church of Gyumri and Ashotsk district Very Reverend Father Bedros Yesayan informed “Armenpress” about this.
"We wanted that people from Armenia be a part of this Mass and for this purpose the youths, who are under the auspices of Rome, will leave to Vatican. Their number reaches about 20 only from Gyumri. They will leave on 11 April, the followers of Catholic Church of Russia and other areas will join them there”, Father Bedros stated.
The Priest said that on Sunday April 12, the church, of course, will celebrate Mass, but not dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The Armenian Catholic Church will celebrate Holy Liturgy devoted to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide on 24 April.
Father Bedros highlighted another fact that on April 12, during the Mass, Francis Pope of Rome will proclaim the mediaeval Armenian priest, theologian, poet and philosopher Gregory of Narek as “Doctor of the Church”.
