YEREVAN, 17 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The city council of the Italian city of Mantova will discuss the issue on official recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The issue will be put up for a vote during the city council’s plenary session, the agenda of which includes the issue presented by city council member Fausto Bansi, as “Armenpress” reports, citing Gzzetta di Mantova website. “The city council has expressed its full solidarity with the Armenian people ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, accepting as a basis the document proposed by Bansi.”
The Centennial of the Armenian Genocide will be marked on April 24th. “I paid heed to the call of the Armenian community of Rome to the local authorities to join the movement for solidarity in memory of the tragedy that took place in 1915 and that has been denied and unrecognized for many years,” Bansi said.
