Members of Iran-Armenia friendship group to visit Genocide memorial on April 24

YEREVAN, MARCH 10, ARMENPRESS. It is considered to hold events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the course of the whole year in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The upcoming events will have political, social, and cultural significance. The two Armenian MPs of the Iranian parliament Karen Khanlaryan and Robert Beglaryan will deliver remarks in April condemning the Armenian Genocide.

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, Iranian MP Robert Beglaryan representing the Southern Iranian-Armenians, states that the remarks of the Armenian MPs will be followed by the statement of the Assyrian MPs of Iran’s Majlis.

Among other things, Robert Beglaryan underscored: “Over 100 letters have been sent to the MPs of the Iranian Parliament and introduced the history of 1915 and urged them to issue addresses or statements advancing the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

We have already had meetings with a number of MPs and currently we are looking forward to their addresses. It is considered to hold a commemorative event with participation of the Iranian MPs.”

The members of the Iran-Armenia friendship group will pay a visit to the Tzitzernakaberd Memorial on April 24. “There are 11 persons in the Iran-Armenia friendship group. At the course of the meeting, the chairman of the group and some MPs promised to visit Tzitzernakaberd on April 24,” Beglaryan concluded.
