Lukashevich says situation at Line of Contact in Karabakh is unstable

YEREVAN, 5 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic remains unstable. As “Armenpress” reports, this is what official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Lukashevich announced during a press conference. “Some tranquility was established in the second half of February following the escalation of tension in the beginning of the year. That is what the representatives of the parties stated during the February 20 monitoring held by the group of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Anjey Kasprzik. However, the latest data received in the first days of March show another ceasefire violation and, unfortunately, there are victims,” Lukashevich said.

Lukashevich mentioned a corresponding report will be prepared based on the results of the March 4 monitoring conducted by Kasprzik’s group and expressed the view that the monitoring will help provide specific information about the situation at the Line of Contact.

The Russian official representative called on the conflicting parties to show moderation and not permit actions that would lead to the escalation of tension.
