YEREVAN, 4 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Currently, the law-enforcement authorities of both the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation continue the investigation into the corpus delicti in relation to the murder that took place in Gyumri. This is whatMinister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Hovhannes Manukyansaid as he responded to Deputy of the faction of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Nikol Pashinyan during a question-and-answer session at the National Assembly.“Armenia’s high-ranking officials have given clarifications about handing the criminal over to Armenia’s law-enforcement authorities. Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan has given detailed clarifications regarding those issues at the National Assembly,”Manukyan mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.
Manukyan stressed the fact that by taking all this into consideration, the government doesn’t find it appropriate to provide further legal commentaries in relation to the investigative and judicial sovereignty, within the limits of powers of the relevant law-enforcement authorities.“We’re particularly concerned with hearing political and sentimental statements and commentaries when the case is in the stage of preliminary investigation. They can be needless interventions and can disturb the implementation of the relevant legal procedures for the criminal case. There is also a certain format for cooperation between the corresponding services of Armenia and Russia. There has even been certain agreement on cooperation at the level of the chairs of the Investigative Committees, which will ensure the multilateralism, objectivity and legitimacy of the investigation,”Manukyan underscored.
