YEREVAN, 3 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan, governed by Article 6 of the Agreement on Jurisdiction and Mutual Legal Assistance between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation for Cases Related to the Russian Military Base in the Territory of the Republic of Armenia, has addressed Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chayka with a mediation to transfer the proceedings of the criminal case instigated in relation to the January 12 murder of seven citizens of the Republic of Armenia in Gyumri over to the law-enforcement authorities of the Republic of Armenia, as the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”.
The 6 members of the Avetisyan family were shot and killed in Gyumri at around 06:00 a.m. on January 12, 2015. Only six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan survived and was transferred to a medical center with injuries that he had received from cutting and piercing tools. The child’s health condition worsened on January 19. There was deeper renal insufficiency and cardiac insufficiency. Doctors failed to save Seryozha Avetisyan’s life. At 17:02 on January 19, the child died. The person charged with killing the members of the Avetisyan family and causing numerous injuries to little Seryozha is Valery Permyakov, a soldier of the 102ndRussian military base stationed in Gyumri.
