Active measures taken for comprehensive investigation of Gyumri multiple murder

YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, ARMENPRESS. The General Department for the Investigation of Cases of Extraordinary Importance of the Investigative Commission of the Republic of Armenia continues carrying out all the active investigatory and other necessary processes for the comprehensive investigation of all the circumstances on the January 12 assassination of the family of six and assassination attempt against the six-month-old child in Armenia’s second largest city Gyumri. The measures are also aimed at the verification of all the stories put forward.

The Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Commission of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that among the other actions, the experts carried out additional examination of the crime site on January 16. A number of complex probes have been set.

Previously it was reported that Seryozha Avetisyan was taken to Yerevan’s “Holy Theotokos” medical centre. All the victims of assassination in Armenia’s Gyumri have been identified. The Press Secretary of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Sona Truzyan informed “Armenpress” that Seryozha K. Avetisyan (father of the family), Hasmik R. Avetisyan (mother of the family), Armen S. Avetisyan (their son), Araks A. Avetisyan (family’s bride), Aida S. Avetisyan (daughter) and Hasmik A. Avetisyan (2-year old child) have been killed.

Minor positive changes have been noticed in the health condition of the 6-month old Seryozha Avetisyan, who survived the brutal multiple murder in Armenia’s Gyumri. The child will breathe via artificial respiration facility for another couple of days.

Seryozha Avetisyan was taken to the hospital with a number of stab wounds, one of them in the area of abdominal cavity. The child is currently in the intensive care unit; his condition remains heavy, but stable.

The serviceman of the Russian military base 102 Valery Permyakov, suspected in the assassination of the family of 6 in Armenia’s Gyumri, has given first testimonies and confessed his crime.

The Russian frontier troops arrested the suspect of the assassination in Armenia’s Gyumri, who attempted to cross the Armenian-Turkish border. The suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Bayandur village.
