GYUMRI, 12 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Prosecutor of Shirak Province Raffi Aslanyan doesn’t think there will be shootings in other parts of Gyumri after the murder in the city because the suspected Russian soldier’s gun was found at the scene of the crime. “The shootings haven’t been confirmed. If the weapon has been identified as an AKS self-propelled weapon, I don’t think there will be any more shootings for the moment. The person who fled the scene is under persecution. He is wanted everywhere, and there is a hypothesis that he is walking around the city dressed as an average citizen. There is no other information at this moment,” the prosecutor mentioned.
When “Armenpress”’s correspondent asked the prosecutor whether the soldier had another weapon or not, he mentioned that the operative and investigative bodies don’t know anything at this moment. For security considerations, all schools of Gyumri are under supervision. “Obviously, if anyone leaves a military unit with a weapon, measures need to be taken, taking into consideration the security of the population,” Raffi Aslanyan mentioned. Chief of Police of Shirak Province Vardan Nadaryan told“Armenpress”that, according to preliminary information, the suspect is one of the soldiers of the Russian military unit.
